MOST PEOPLE ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THEIR FIREWALLS. WINDOWS FIREWALL WORKS IF YOU
FOLLOW DIRECTIONS IN PAGE 2 OF THIS HELP PAGE. ....NOTE:
MCFEE FIREWALL IS NOT REAL FRIENDLY FOR THIS NETCAM.
I DISABLED THE MCFEE FIREWALL AND ENABLED WINDOWS FIREWALL.
AFTER YOU ENABLE WINDOWS FIREWALL, FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS IN HELP, PAGE 2. THEN THE NETCAM PICTURE SHOULD WORK
OK.

You might have to open PORTS IN YOUR FIREWALL FOR THE NETCAM TO COME THROUGH FROM THE INTERNET. The
Netcam requires Port 1024 for HTTP and Port 5003 for Video Streaming to operate correctly. In Windows XP do the following: OPEN
Control Panel, Click on Windows Firewall icon, or SELECT Security System and click on Windows Firewall icon at bottom of Security
System window
|
 |
Either way you will see a screen similar to the one shown below
|
 |
|
If your Firewall is ON you have the option of turning it off temporarily to stop firewall blocking,
but a better idea is to do the following: Click on EXCEPTIONS Tab shown below
|
 |
Click on Add Port box near bottom of window, You will see a window like that one shown below
with a blank space for entering a Name and Port Number. Also a selection for TCP or UDP
Type in your window the info shown in above
window , Choose TCP, and then Click OK This will take you back to the Exception Tab of Windows Firewall
We have to add ANOTHER PORT TO THE LIST: Click on Add Port box near bottom of window You will see a window like that one shown below with a blank space for
entering a Name and Port Number. Also a selection for TCP or UDP
Type in your window the info shown in window above, Choose UDP, and then Click OK Click
OK again to close Windows Firewall window and then Close the Control Panel Your are done
